DISCUSSION
The synoptic setup aloft over the region this morning features a low over the northeast and high pressure well to the west of Florida. At the surface, weak high pressure remains over the state while a weak frontal boundary moves southward toward the local area. Moisture is on the rise ahead of this boundary and even as it continues to weaken, the ingredients are there for increasing showers and a few storms this afternoon and evening. The best chances are still forecast to be over the Nature Coast, diminishing to only 20% or so for southwest Florida. Still only looking like up to a half inch on the higher end of the forecast rainfall amounts for those lucky enough to get some rain. Some activity will linger past 00Z, then a dry overnight is expected.
For Tuesday, high pressure northeast of the state will keep an east to southeast wind flow in place, with the sea breeze turning winds onshore in the afternoon. Moisture will be diminishing from today, but it does look like there will still be enough to squeeze out a handful of showers and may be a storm or two in the afternoon, especially closer to the coast where the sea breeze will likely end up.
The rest of the work week will feature high pressure and a return to warm and dry weather. It does look like rain chances try to make a return next weekend, however, as troughing moves over the eastern half of the country and a frontal boundary settles over the state.

(12Z TAFS)
Issued at 805 AM EDT Mon Apr 28 2025
A few pop up storms will be possible during the late afternoon and evening hours mainly to the north of our TAF sites. The two exceptions will be TPA and LAL which will see some VCTS. Besides that expect VFR conditions through the period with winds generally below 12 knots.
MARINE
A frontal boundary approaching from the north will bring a chance of showers and a few thunderstorms today and Tuesday, then high pressure builds in for the rest of the week. No headlines are expected.
FIRE WEATHER
A frontal boundary will move over the region today, with increasing moisture leading to a chance for showers and a few storms both today and tomorrow. High pressure will then build back in for the rest of the week with warm and dry conditions returning. Despite the increase in moisture, relative humidity values will drop near critical levels for interior parts of the forecast area mainly south of I-4, though winds will be less than 15 mph, with no Red Flag conditions expected.
