New UPDATE, MARINE, FIRE WEATHER, AVIATION, HYDROLOGY
UPDATE
Issued at 856 PM EDT Fri Sep 22 2023 Have reduced PoPs this evening and overnight across the area, as guidance continues to trend down on coverage and just a few showers are present on radar offshore from the Treasure Coast as of 9pm. Isolated showers, and possibly a storm or two, will remain possible in this area overnight. Otherwise, mostly dry conditions expected, with few clouds. Light northerly flow overnight will help lows fall into the mid to upper 60s for many areas, though the Space and Treasure Coasts could remain in the lower 70s and rural areas north of Orlando could dip into the lower 60s.
MARINE
Issued at 856 PM EDT Fri Sep 22 2023 Small Craft Advisories are in effect for all of the east central Florida Atlantic waters. North to north-northwesterly winds around 15-20kts north of Sebastian Inlet this evening will become 10-15kts overnight. However, lingering swell from distant Tropical Storm Ophelia will keep seas 5-7ft nearshore and 7-9ft offshore, with seas up to 10ft well offshore north of the Cape.
FIRE WEATHER
Issued at 241 PM EDT Fri Sep 22 2023 Drier air is expected across east central Florida into the weekend with relative humidity values dropping into the upper 30s to low 40s, mainly along and to the north of I-4 Saturday and the low 40s on Sunday. Conditions will be favorable for increased fire sensitivity.
AVIATION
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 856 PM EDT Fri Sep 22 2023 VFR conditions prevailing. Light, generally northerly winds overnight will become onshore Saturday afternoon. Drier air will prevent any VCSH/VCTS north of Melbourne. However, scattered showers and storms are expected after around 18Z for the Treasure Coast terminals. Activity will likely linger through the afternoon. Confidence is too low for tempos at the moment, but will monitor for future packages. Winds around 10kts or less through the period.
