Marine Weather and Tide Forecast for Jupiter Island, FL

The forecast for east central Florida remains on track this morning. High pressure continues to gradually build across the southeastern U.S. which will lead to dry conditions locally.
Northwesterly winds this morning will veer out of the north- northeast throughout the day, staying around 10 mph. Skies are forecast to remain mostly clear, though marine stratocu has developed across the local Atlantic waters. Some greater cloud coverage will therefore be possible along the coast as these clouds drift onshore as a result of the northeasterly winds.
Temperatures will be slightly below normal in the mid to upper 60s near and north of the Orlando metro and Cape Canaveral, with highs southward closer to normal in the low 70s.

Today-Sunday...High pressure across the southeastern U.S. today will settle southward and across the area on Sunday. This will allow winds to slowly decrease and veer onshore through the weekend. Northerly winds around 5-10 mph across the interior and up to 10-15 mph along the coast this morning, will veer to the northeast this afternoon. Winds then become light out of the north tonight and then become E/NE around 5-10 mph on Sunday. This developing onshore flow will allow temperatures to slowly climb through the weekend, but it will remain cooler than normal today into tonight, before temps rise to more seasonable values during the day Sunday. Highs today will reach the mid to upper 60s near to north of Orlando and in the low 70s farther south, with max temps then reaching the low to mid 70s on Sunday. Lows tonight will again fall into the 40s across much of the area, except in the low/mid 50s along the coast from the Cape southward. Min temps will then be in the 50s across east central Florida on Sunday night. Dry conditions will prevail, with skies mostly clear to partly cloudy.

Monday-Tuesday...High pressure shifts eastward, with ridge axis remaining across central Florida. This will continue a gradual warming trend into early next week, as winds veer and remain out of the south to southeast. Temperatures will be above normal, with highs in the upper 70s/around 80 degrees on Monday and low 80s across much of the area on Tuesday. Overnight lows will rise from the upper 50s to low 60s on Monday night to low to mid 60s on Tuesday night. Moisture will gradually increase across the area, but overall dry conditions are forecast to continue, with rain chances remaining out of the forecast.

Wednesday-Friday...A strong mid/upper level trough over the central U.S. shifts eastward into midweek pushing a strong cold front through the area Wednesday. Moisture quickly increases across the area ahead of this boundary in an increasing S/SW flow, with PW values rising to 1.7-1.9 inches. This front will bring the next best chance of rainfall to the area, with scattered showers developing and pushing northeastward across the area into Wednesday (PoPs currently 20-40 percent). Still some question on overall instability that will be available ahead of the front. For now will keep thunderstorm mention out of the forecast, but it may be possible to see a few storms as well along/ahead of the front into Wednesday.

Much of this activity is forecast to push offshore by Wednesday night as front clears south of the area and drier/much cooler air builds into the region. Highs on Wednesday are forecast to range from the mid to upper 70s across northern portions of east central Florida, with values still reaching the low 80s farther south of Orlando. Chilly temps then forecast behind the front, with lows plummeting to the 40s/low 50s across much of area, with upper 30s possible across northern Lake/NW Volusia counties. N/NW winds of 10- 15 mph will make it feel even colder with lowest wind chill values in the 30s through early Thursday morning. Temps will remain much cooler than normal on Thursday, with highs in the 60s (except around 70 degrees along the Treasure Coast).

High pressure builds in north of the area behind the front, with winds veering onshore into late week, which will quickly moderate temperatures to end the work week. Lows Thursday night will range from the mid/upper 40s northwest of I-4 and in the 50s across much of the rest of east central Florida, with highs in the low to mid 70s on Friday. Dry conditions look to prevail behind the front through Thursday and into Friday.

Today-Tonight...North to northeast winds up to 15-20 knots this morning across the gulf stream waters will diminish to 10-15 knots through the late morning and afternoon. Seas will be slow to subside, with wave heights up to 5-7 feet. Small Craft Advisory continues offshore through 7 AM and then will be limited to the offshore waters of Brevard County and the Treasure Coast through early afternoon as seas up to 7 feet linger. Small craft will then need to exercise caution over the offshore waters into the afternoon and across the nearshore waters of the Treasure Coast all of today for seas up to 6 feet.

Seas fall to 3-5 feet tonight with winds diminishing to 5-10 knots out of the N/NE near to north of the Cape and E/NE to the south.

Sunday-Wednesday...High pressure builds southward and across the area into Sunday, with boating conditions more favorable. E/NE winds will be 5-10 knots with seas 2-4 feet. High pressure then shifts eastward into early next week, with ridge axis remaining across central Florida. Winds veer to the S/SE and increase up to 10-15 knots, with seas 2-3 feet.

Boating conditions then deteriorate, becoming poor to hazardous toward midweek as a strong cold front approaches and pushes through the waters into Wednesday. Scattered showers will push northeast and offshore across the coastal waters through Wednesday with the front. Southerly winds will increase to 15-20 knots into Tuesday night, and then up to 15-25 knots out of the W/SW into Wednesday, building seas up to 4-6 feet through the day. As the cold front shifts south, winds become N/NW around 20-25 knots with seas quickly building up to 7-10 feet into Wednesday night.

VFR conditions are forecast through the TAF period with high pressure (~1030mb) in place over the Southeastern US. North-northeast winds at 10-12kts with gusts to 15-18kts are forecast at KVRB, KFPR, and KSUA with north-northeast winds at 5-10kts at the other east central Florida TAF sites. North-northeast winds are expected to diminish overnight before veering east into Sunday afternoon at 4-8kts.
