DISCUSSION
Issued at 417 PM EDT Thu Oct 10 2024
Conditions will steadily improve as Milton accelerates northeast over the Atlantic. Gusty northerly winds late this afternoon will begin to settle this evening. Surface high pressure will gradually build over the region through the weekend and into early next week, with generally dry weather and light winds expected.
Sufficient moisture combined with a few weak disturbances traversing southern FL will bring some low rain chances for the southern coastal waters and Charlotte and Lee Counties. A mid to upper level trough developing over the eastern US early next week will bring a cold front into the area by Tuesday into Wednesday and a few showers or isolated storms could accompany the front as it moves south through the area. Temperatures each day will be near normal, with lows in the 60s and highs in the 80s. However, strong high pressure building south in the wake of next week's front could bring cooler temperatures.

Conditions have and will continue improve across the area as MVFR CIGs lift and scatter out of the area. Post Tropical Cyclone Milton is well off the Atlantic Coast of FL, and will continue to move eastward as an area of high pressure moves south. Winds will continue to be breezy, with some gusts up to 20kts over the latter part of the TAF period. We also could see light showers near and in the vicinity of the terminals this activity, with tapering overnight.
