With high pressure settling over central Florida, a dry and calm night is forecast. Winds become light, generally out of the north overnight. Temperatures in the mid 50s to low 60s now are still forecast to dip into the 40s and 50s areawide by daybreak Sunday.
A broken layer of mid level clouds will continue to brush the Treasure Coast, potentially lasting into Sunday morning.

The warming trend continues on Sunday as highs push into the 70s for most, alongside a light east-northeast wind.

Tonight...Surface high pressure is forecast to continue building across the southeastern U.S. into tonight, which will help keep conditions dry locally overnight. Skies are forecast to remain clear, though some marine stratocu could drift onshore along the immediate coast primarily south of the Cape. Temperatures overnight are forecast to be in the 40s across the interior west of I-95, with areas along the coast in the low 50s.

Sunday-Tuesday...Conditions are forecast to remain dry through the remainder of the weekend and into early next week as the surface high drifts southeastward across the Florida peninsula and out across the western Atlantic. Winds are forecast to veer from the movement of the high, becoming easterly on Sunday and southerly Monday and Tuesday. The prevailing high pressure will also lead to a gradual warming trend across east central Florida, with highs in the 70s on Sunday increasing into the upper 70s to low 80s Monday and Tuesday. Overnight lows will also follow this trend, with temperatures in the 50s Sunday night increasing to the upper 50s to mid 60s Monday and Tuesday nights.

Wednesday-Saturday (previous modified)...A strong mid/upper level trough over the central U.S. shifts eastward into midweek pushing a strong cold front through the area Wednesday. Moisture quickly increases across the area ahead of this boundary in an increasing S/SW flow, with PW values rising to 1.7-1.9 inches. This front will bring the next best chance of rainfall to the area, with scattered showers developing and pushing northeastward across the area into Wednesday (PoPs currently 20-40 percent). Guidance has started to hint at the potential for some instability present across the area ahead of the front, so decided to add in a 20 percent chance for lightning with the afternoon forecast package. Will continue to monitor this with subsequent forecast packages and make adjustments as we get closer in time to the frontal passage.

Much of this activity is forecast to push offshore by Wednesday night as front clears south of the area and drier/much cooler air builds into the region. Highs on Wednesday are forecast to range from the mid to upper 70s across northern portions of east central Florida, with values still reaching the low 80s farther south of Orlando. Chilly temps then forecast behind the front, with lows plummeting to the 40s/low 50s across much of area, with upper 30s possible across northern Lake/NW Volusia counties. N/NW winds of 10- 15 mph will make it feel even colder with lowest wind chill values in the 30s through early Thursday morning. Temps will remain much cooler than normal on Thursday, with highs in the 60s (except around 70 degrees along the Treasure Coast).

High pressure builds in north of the area behind the front, with winds veering onshore into late week, which will quickly moderate temperatures to end the work week and into the weekend. Lows Thursday night will range from the mid/upper 40s northwest of I-4 and in the 50s across much of the rest of east central Florida, with highs in the low to mid 70s on Friday and Saturday. Dry conditions look to prevail behind the front Thursday through Saturday.

Tonight...Improving boating conditions are forecast as winds diminish out of the northeast at 5 to 10 knots tonight, allowing seas to subside to 2 to 5 feet. High pressure will remain in place, keeping conditions dry across the local Atlantic waters.

Saturday-Thursday...The surface high will gradually shift southeastward towards the Florida peninsula Sunday and will then drift eastward across the western Atlantic Monday into Tuesday. As a result, conditions are forecast to remain dry through this weekend and into early next week, with generally good boating conditions forecast. Winds will veer from the northeast on Saturday to out of the south on Tuesday, remaining around 10 to 15 knots each day. Seas generally 2 to 4 feet. By Wednesday, a cold front is forecast to approach the area and move southward across the local Atlantic waters, causing increasing rain chances. Drier on Thursday as high pressure once again builds across the peninsula. Behind the front, deteriorating boating conditions are forecasts, with winds increasing out of the north, leading to building seas. Small Craft Advisories may be needed in the middle of next week.
