VFR conditions prevail through the period across terminals as dry air remains in place. Light east to northeasterly winds dominate with a few coastal sites experiencing the sea breeze. Moisture gradually returns to the area towards the late afternoon, which could support a light shower or two near southern TAF sites, but confidence at this time is not high enough to include it in the forecast.
DISCUSSION
Issued at 154 AM EDT Sat Sep 23 2023
The official first day of fall is being ushered in with drier air and slightly cooler temperatures. After the above average temperatures most of the summer and oppressive humidity, it may actually seem chilly to some. High temperatures will top out just below 90 for most, with some still reaching the lower 90s.
However, with the lower humidity, it will still make for a pleasant day. Humidity begins to creep up throughout the week as an upper level trough and associated frontal boundary pull more moisture over the area. By Monday, a more typical pattern with afternoon showers and storms returns and the refreshing air mass of the weekend will be just a memory.
