Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL Issued by National Weather Service Melbourne FL 308 PM EDT Tue Apr 22 2025
New DISCUSSION, AVIATION, MARINE, FIRE WEATHER
DISCUSSION
Issued at 305 PM EDT Tue Apr 22 2025
High pressure will at the surface and aloft will continue to dominate through the week with fair dry weather persisting.
Daytime temperatures will remain above normal with highs in the upper 80s to mid 90s over inland areas, while the afternoon sea breeze will keep coastal locations several degrees cooler. Over the weekend an upper level trough will slide across the eastern U.S. with an associated cool front moving into the southeast U.S.
and washing out as it moves south into Florida. Deeper moisture with the boundary will move in from the north bringing us our next chance of seeing showers and possibly a few thunderstorms Sunday and Monday. Another area of high pressure will build in from the north early next week shifting the low level flow to a more northeast to east direction with some moisture lingering into midweek keeping chances for some convection each afternoon in the forecast.
AVIATION
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 305 PM EDT Tue Apr 22 2025
VFR conditions should prevail as high pressure dominates. The only impact of note will be diurnal wind shifts due to the sea breeze propagating inland during each afternoon.
MARINE
Issued at 305 PM EDT Tue Apr 22 2025
An east to southeast flow will persist through the week, but the sea breeze will shift to the winds to onshore each day. Winds will then shift back to the east to southeast during each evening, with a couple hour window where the winds will increase and become gusty as this transition takes place.
FIRE WEATHER
Issued at 305 PM EDT Tue Apr 22 2025
Conditions remain warm and dry, but stable. Dispersions will gradually increase over the next few days. Relative humidity values will dip to between 30 and 35 percent over inland areas during each afternoon through the end of the week, but winds will remain less than 15 mph so no Red Flag conditions are anticipated
