KEY MESSAGES
Updated at 555 AM CDT Sat Jun 27 2026
- Small Craft Advisory south of Port Aransas will return tonight
- Dry and hot through early next week
- Saharan dust could result in hazy conditions early next week
DISCUSSION
Issued at 146 AM CDT Sat Jun 27 2026
High pressure will continue to keep our daily forecast feeling like deja vu. Morning clouds will decrease each afternoon and winds will be breezy. High temperatures will remain in the low 90s to around 100, so the breeze will definitely be welcome. Even with the breeze, the HeatRisk will mostly be Moderate (level 2 of 4). Remember to drink lots of water, take breaks, and stay safe.
The high pressure will move east by the middle of next week, allowing PWATs to rise and bringing back very low chances for some seabreeze convection each afternoon. Confidence is low as the plume of Saharan Dust will start moving toward the Texas coast Sunday PM through Monday, which would be a competing factor for any rainfall later in the week.
The breezy conditions could lead to more Small Craft Advisories for the bays/waterways and nearshore waters south of Port Aransas in the afternoon, but confidence is still too low for me to issue any headlines. Will leave the decision until the next forecast when we will be able to see how things are panning out. Sunday still looks to be the breeziest day across the Brush Country and Coastal Bend with sustained winds at 20-25 mph.

This will last for a few more hours before transitioning back to VFR. Breezy conditions will be expected with winds out of the south-southeast around 15 to 20 knots sustained with gusts to 25-30 knots.
