DISCUSSION

Current-Tue...Cold front well south of the forecast area this evening as high pressure builds into the southeast U.S. The wind speeds will decrease gradually thru late evening/overnight, but remain a bit elevated along the coast, while veering NNE/NE by around sunrise. Overnight lows cooler and mainly in the M-U50s, except L60s along the immediate coast. May see M-U60s across the barrier islands for mins. High pressure overspreads the FL peninsula on Tue with MSunny skies and pleasant late April temps in the M- U70s, perhaps a few L80s well into the interior near the Kissimmee River. Also, low humidity. Surface winds will continue to veer to NE/ENE 10-15 mph, with some stronger gusts and highest speeds near the coast.

AVIATION
VFR CIGs tonight as cooler/drier air filters down the peninsula behind the most recent cold front. Gusty N/NNE winds into the early evening will finally diminish to 5-10 kts thru late evening and overnight as the pgrad slackens. But there will be some higher gusts, especially along the coast where winds may be a bit more elevated. On Tue, continued VFR with winds veering E/NE 10-15 knots with a few higher gusts to 20 knots possible. Strongest winds near the coast.

MARINE
Overnight/Tue...Poor to Hazardous boating conditions into Tue, with a slow decrease in both winds/seas thru the day. Strong and gusty N/NNE winds 20-25 kts tonight will continue to veer to NE overnight while on a gradually diminishing trend and finally ENE/E by late in the day on Tue. Seas will approach 8-10 ft in the Gulf Stream and 5-7 ft near shore overnight, finally subsiding to 4-5 ft near shore and 5-7 ft Gulf Stream by the end of the day on Tue.

FIRE WEATHER
Tuesday...Sensitive fire weather conditions as dry air returns to the area. Onshore flow out of the E/NE will keep lowest Min RH values across the interior. Lowest afternoon RH values will drop into the mid-upper 30s. However, wind speeds across the interior look to remain below 15 mph where RH values are forecast to be closest to critically low.
