Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 155 PM EDT Sat Apr 19 2025
DISCUSSION
Strong high pressure is centered aloft over the region with surface high pressure to our northeast, keeping an east-southeast low-level wind flow over the state. The setup remains pretty similar through the next week and will support warm temperatures, with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s through Monday and then a few degrees warmer than that for the rest of next week. These values will likely approach and break some records here and there throughout the week.
Dew points will remain in the 50s to low 60s today and tomorrow, but then gradually increase through the rest of the forecast period. The temperatures continue to be the main story as rain chances are basically zero for the near future.
AVIATION
(18Z TAFS)
VFR conditions are expected through the forecast period. Winds remain generally east-southeast, but could try to briefly turn onshore with the sea breeze later today and Sunday afternoon.
MARINE
High pressure will remain over the region for the next several days with east-southeast winds turning onshore with the sea breeze each afternoon. Winds and seas will remain below headlines for the most part, but will increase some each evening and overnight to near- exercise caution levels.
FIRE WEATHER
High pressure with dry and warm conditions will remain in place through the next several days. Relative humidity values will dip close to critical levels for each of the next several afternoons, but Red Flag conditions are not expected at this time.
