.SHORT TERM (TDY-SAT)...
Issued at 244 AM EDT Fri May 8 2026
Low clouds and fog are present across the peninsula this morning.
Meanwhile, high pressure remains over most of the state as U/L shortwave and associated frontal boundary slowly move south through the weekend. This disturbance will pull higher moisture into the area, which will increase rain chances slightly mostly for the interior and east during the afternoon and evening over the next few days. Additional moisture will also support low clouds and fog overnight and early morning.
In store for today, highs will be in the low to mid 90s in most locations, except for areas along the coast that will stay in the 80s. Westerly winds prevail during this time. Heat indices will climb up into the triple digits given the increase in moisture.
The aforementioned boundary slides back and stall across north FL.
.LONG TERM (SUN-THU)...
Issued at 244 AM EDT Fri May 8 2026
Going into next week, another system will attempt to move over the area region and push the front southward through Tuesday. Showers may make it to the I-4 corridor, however, current guidance keeps shows the boundary falling apart as U/L supports exits the area.
Temperatures behind it will be a few degrees lower, especially overnight. This won't last very long as high pressue builds and a warming trend returns.
AVIATION
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 131 AM EDT Fri May 8 2026
VFR conditions prevails through the next few hours before low clouds and fog near some terminals. This will result in intermittent MVFR/IFR cigs and vis. VFR conditions should return after sunrise with west to northwesterly winds in place.

FIRE WEATHER
Issued at 244 AM EDT Fri May 8 2026
