Ridging centered over the Southwest CONUS/Four Corners is expected to result in largely uneventful weather over SE Texas through early next week at least. The ridge is anticipated to drift north slightly beginning Thursday with heights and 850mb temperatures expected to drop slightly into the weekend, resulting in a slight downturn in heat stress. Decreasing subsidence and rising PWs should bring some better rain chances throughout this period, with isolated seabreeze/baybreeze showers/storms becoming more scattered in nature as a result, especially after today. Overall highs will be in the 90s each day with heat indices reaching the triple digits in the afternoon. Some patchy fog will be possible during the early morning hours.

Current satellite imagery depicts MVFR/IFR ceilings developing over areas along and west of the Brazos River. These reduced ceilings are anticipated to move into CLL and UTS over the next couple of hours and may extend into CXO and IAH as well later this morning. Additionally, periods of patchy fog have brought reduced visibility to LBX as well. Based on yesterday, SGR may also experience reduced visibility for a few hours around and shortly after sunrise.

VFR conditions will return area-wide by 15Z. Light south-southwest winds early this morning will become southerly by the afternoon with wind speeds in the 8-12 kt range. Occasional gusts of 15-20 kt will be possible through the afternoon. Isolated SH/TS possible again this afternoon between 21Z-01Z mainly around the Houston metro terminals. Winds become light and variable overnight with potential for another round of patchy fog and reduced ceilings mainly west of I-45 going into Thursday morning.
Ceilings/visibilities improve back to VFR by 15Z on Thursday with south to southeast winds around 8-12 kt prevailing. Another round of isolated to scattered SH/TS possible in the afternoon.

Onshore winds 10-15 knots and seas of 2-4 feet are expected throughout the next several days. Rain chances increase slightly on Thursday through early next week. Chances for isolated to scattered showers and storms will be greatest during the late night through early afternoon hours for the Gulf.
