DISCUSSION
Issued at 141 PM EST Mon Jan 13 2025
We will be seeing a series of fronts pushing through the area over the next seven days. The first one is a warm front that is draped over central Florida right now. We have seen a big spread in temperatures do to this front. Areas along the Nature Coast are stuck in the 50's while areas in SW Florida seeing highs around 80 degrees. This front will push through quickly this evening with the cold front not far behind it. The cold front will bring some passing showers overnight but not expected any significant rainfall totals.
This cold front will help to keep temperatures cooler through most of our work week with highs in the 60's and lows in the 40's. By Friday a low will develop in the Gulf of Mexico and slide through the state. There is some debate amongst the models on exactly how much moisture this low will bring with the GFS bringing scattered showers mainly south of I-4 and the EURO keeping us completely dry. Right now just keeping some lower PoPs in place. Behind this low we will see more seasonable temperatures for the weekend with lows in the 50's and highs in the low to mid 70's. However another more significant cold front will start to work its way through the state on Sunday bringing showers and possibly some thunderstorms to the area.
