UPDATE
Issued at 645 PM EST Tue Jan 14 2025
Current forecast on track with cool dry conditions expected overnight as high pressure continues building into the region in the wake of a recent cold front. Mostly clear to partly cloudy tonight with lows in the mid to upper 30s across the Nature Coast and lower 40s to lower 50s from north to south across WC/SWFL.
Will monitor area of mid/upper clouds across the Nature Coast this evening into overnight that could keep temps a few degrees warmer if they persist, which would temper frost potential in that area.
DISCUSSION
Issued at 230 PM EST Tue Jan 14 2025
The cold front that pushed through last night is now just north of the Keys this afternoon. We are still seeing some lingering cloud cover over Lee County with sunshine everywhere else. We are expecting quiet but cool weather for the rest of our work week. The only other chance to see any rain will be on Thursday when a weak upper level trough pushes through the state. However PoPs will stay around 20 percent and stay south of I-4.
A cold front will start to work its way through the southeast this weekend. Ahead of the front we will see temperatures warming up with highs back into the 70's for most of us. The front will work through the state on Sunday bringing scattered showers and some isolated thunderstorms to end our weekend. Some cooler temperatures will return for our Monday with some lingering moisture which will keep some lower rainshower chances in place.
