Dry conditions will continue through the night, with low temperatures falling into the 40s across NE FL and SE GA with mainly clear skies.
SHORT TERM
(Wednesday through Thursday night)
Issued at 242 PM EST Tue Dec 5 2023
A dry cold front will move through southeast Georgia and northeast Florida Wednesday morning, leaving cool temperatures and breezy northwesterly winds in it's wake. High temperatures Wednesday will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s, with overnight low temperatures in the 30s inland, and lower to mid 40s near the east coast. With calm winds and clear skies, frost potential exists over all of southeast Georgia and near the Suwannee valley/west of Jacksonville late Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
Temperatures will not warm up Thursday, with high temps forecast to be similar to Wednesday, but with calmer, more variable winds.
However, low temps will be a few degrees warmer Thursday night, limiting frost potential at this time.
LONG TERM
(Friday through next Tuesday)
Issued at 242 PM EST Tue Dec 5 2023
Temperatures will return to near normal Friday, with highs in the mid 60s to lower 70s, increasing further on Saturday to above climo. Dry weather will continue until Saturday night when a cold front sweeps across the region from the west, bringing showers ahead and along the front Sunday. Plenty of moisture with this front will allow an isolated threat for locally heavy rainfall, as well as an isolated thunderstorm threat from Saturday night through Sunday. Warmer weekend temps will be short lived, as the quick moving cold front drops high temperatures Monday back into the 60s.
