New AVIATION

KEY MESSAGES

- Seasonably hot with highs in the 90s and heat index values 101-108F each day.

- An isolated late day shower can't be ruled out along the seabreeze, but most locations will remain dry.

- Slightly better rain chances expected Thursday into the weekend with some deeper moisture moving in from the Gulf.

DISCUSSION
Issued at 1153 PM CDT Mon Aug 3 2026

Clear to partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures anticipated tonight with lows in mainly in the mid to upper 70s inland and the upper 70s to lower 80s along the coast. There is a chance for some isolated patchy fog early Tuesday morning, but chances are low. Fog, if any, will burn off quickly shortly after sunrise.

Weather conditions will remain hot and on the dry side through mid-week as the mid to upper level ridge remains situated over Arizona, New Mexico, and extends into Texas. Expect the highs to peak in the upper 90s inland (some isolated spots reaching 100 deg F) and the lower to mid 90s along the coast through Wednesday.
Heat indices will peak between 103-108 deg F...thus, make sure to continue to protect yourself, your loved ones, and pets from the heat. From Thursday into the upcoming weekend, the highs are expected to range in the lower to mid 90s inland (although some spots could peak in the upper 90s) and the upper 80s to lower 90s along the coast.

Subsidence will help limit rain chances early in the week.
Slightly better chances for showers (20-40%) are expected mid week into the upcoming weekend as surface moisture moves in from the Gulf waters and increases PWs. A good portion of these showers are expected to develop near/along the seabreeze during the afternoon to early evening hours.

AVIATION
(12Z TAF Issuance)
Issued at 516 AM CDT Tue Aug 4 2026

Satellite and observations reveal low-end MVFR ceilings currently over CLL and approaching UTS early this morning. Can't entirely rule out these reduced ceilings extending into CXO by sunrise.
Additionally, periods of patchy fog have brought reduced visibility to LBX as well. VFR conditions will return area-wide by 15Z. Light SSW winds this morning will become S to SSE in the afternoon with wind speeds approaching 8-12 kt. Isolated SH/TS possible this afternoon between 21Z-01Z mainly around the Houston metro terminals. Winds trend back towards light and variable overnight with potential for another round of patchy fog and reduced ceilings mainly west of I-45 going into Wednesday morning.
Ceilings/visibilities improve back to VFR by 15Z on Wednesday with S to SE winds around 8-12 kt prevailing. Another round of isolated afternoon SH/TS will be possible.

Batiste

MARINE
Issued at 1153 PM CDT Mon Aug 3 2026

Light to occasionally moderate onshore winds and seas of 1-3 feet are expected through the upcoming weekend. A slight increase in rain chances can be expected during the weekend.
