NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM SATURDAY MORNING/

Main Highlights:

The front will continue to push southeastward through the area tonight. Behind the front, cooler, drier air will move into the region and persist through the weekend as winds shift northwesterly. Cloud cover gradually reduces overnight, with calm winds and low temperatures in the mid 50s to mid 60s.

SHORT TERM /6 AM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT/

Light northwesterly-northerly winds on Saturday behind the cold front's passage, with winds steadily shifting to become northeasterly by the end of the weekend as cold and dry conditions persist through the weekend. Breezier conditions expected along the coast as northeast winds develop Sunday and a stray coastal shower with the shift to onshore flow.

Daytime highs will be in the mid 70s to mid 80s this weekend with cooler temperatures across SE GA. Cooler air will bring Lows in the mid 40s to mid 50s, warmer temperatures across NE FL.

LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/
Main Highlights This Period:

- Drier and cooler with a return of showers for NE FL Wednesday night and Thursday.

Dry conditions persist through into next week as high pressure builds over the area. The next chance of showers past midweek with isolated chances of showers across north central FL as a shortwave pushes across the FL peninsula from the Gulf ahead of another cold front pushing south towards the area near the end of the forecast period. Cooler temperatures with daytime highs in the 70s, while mid 40s to mid 50s during the overnight hours with the cooler temperatures across SE GA inland locations.

AVIATION /00Z SATURDAY THROUGH 00Z SUNDAY/

VFR conditions will prevail at the regional terminals. Mid and high altitude cloud cover will continue overnight, with ceilings as low as around 4,500 feet possible through around 10Z. Northwesterly winds sustained around 5 knots will shift to northerly while increasing to 5-10 knots after 16Z Saturday.

MARINE

A cold front will cross our local waters during the late evening and overnight hours, accompanied by isolated showers. Winds will shift to northwest with increasing speeds after midnight tonight, followed by winds shifting to north and then northeast in the wake of this frontal passage on Saturday afternoon and evening. High pressure will gradually build into the southeastern states Sunday through early Monday, creating breezy northeast winds and gradually building seas across our local waters. Winds will weaken by Monday afternoon into Tuesday as high pressure settles over the area.

Rip Currents / High Surf:

Breakers around 2-4 feet and a moderate onshore swell will lead to a Moderate risk of Rip Currents today amid the light offshore flow. A northeasterly wind surge will shift down the coast this weekend and likely elevate surf heights and introduce a high risk of rip currents by Sunday at the northeast FL beaches.

FIRE WEATHER

In the wake of tonight's cold frontal passage, northwesterly- northerly develop across the area Tonight, with winds becoming northeasterly by Sunday. Light winds are forecast overall aside from breezy conditions along the coast. Otherwise dry conditions are expected through the weekend as high pressure and a dry airmass settle into the region. Mostly Fair dispersions across the area this weekend. With the dry airmass overhead, min RH values are expected to dip to near critical levels during the upcoming week for interior southeast GA locations.

FOG POTENTIAL AND OTHER WEATHER REMARKS: Significant fog formation is not expected during the next several days.
