Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Mobile AL 158 PM CDT Fri May 15 2026
New DISCUSSION, MARINE
KEY MESSAGES
Issued at 158 PM CDT Fri May 15 2026
- Dry weather expected through the weekend, with rain returning in the coming week.
- Below normal overnight lows expected tonight. Highs and lows trend warmer and well above normal by early next week.
DISCUSSION
Issued at 158 PM CDT Fri May 15 2026
An upper ridge will build over the eastern CONUS and western Atlantic through the weekend. This will keep the area mostly dry through early next week as systems are deflected northwest of the region. There may be enough deep layer moisture over western portions of the area on Sunday for a few showers across southeast Mississippi on Sunday, however most areas will remain dry. The building ridge will lead to increasing temperatures, with highs in the mid and upper 80s through much of the period. Lows will remain below normal tonight and Saturday night before warming back above normal for next week as moisture levels increase. Rain chances return to the forecast by midweek as moisture levels increase and the upper ridge weakens. /13
AVIATION
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1203 PM CDT Fri May 15 2026

MARINE
Issued at 158 PM CDT Fri May 15 2026
A generally light onshore flow will continue through the weekend.
Winds will increase by early next week as another system approaches from the west. /13
