- Above normal temperatures will be in place Friday into the first half next week.
- No rain in this forecast period.
SHORT TERM
(This evening through Thursday night)
Issued at 1241 PM CDT Wed Mar 18 2026
Current upper level analysis shows a ridge centered over southern California which is spread across the the western US and trough encompassing the eastern 2/3s of the country. The trough axis is well east of the CWA and post frontal surface ridge continues to build in from the north/northeast. It will continue moving eastward into the Atlantic tonight which will allow onshore flow to return to the local area. Increasing dewpoints from that developing southerly wind regime as well as incremental 500mb height increase will bring up overnight lows about 10 degrees. That same trend will carry over into Thursday with about a 10 degree increase in highs and partly cloudy skies.
LONG TERM
(Friday through Tuesday night)
Issued at 1241 PM CDT Wed Mar 18 2026
The air mass in place will continue moderating trend that starts Thursday and heights increase slightly. Will be looking at lows in the 50s to 60 and highs in the 80s which is several degrees above normal. Rain chances remain nil through the period as well as the upper level ridge centered west of the CWA generally stays put and expands across the south central US.
