New AVIATION

SHORT TERM
(Today and tonight)
Issued at 442 AM CDT Sat Jul 27 2024

Higher pressure will continue building across the area throughout the next 24 hrs. This means we will see the upper 90s continue, and expand, across the area. Temperatures will generally be right around normal for this time of year. Most locations will remain dry. Otherwise, some patchy areas of low clouds will persist for the first part of the morning. However, they will burn off quickly after sunrise.

LONG TERM
(Sunday through Friday)
Issued at 350 AM CDT Sat Jul 27 2024

On Sunday, upper level ridging will build into the area from the west. This will suppress rain chances for most of the area, except for far southeastern areas east of a San Saba to Junction line where a few isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible.

Monday through the end of next week, the upper level ridge will become centered over Texas. This will keep our temperatures very hot, with no precipitation is expected. Highs will range from the upper 90s to around 105 degrees from Tuesday through the end of the week.

AVIATION
(12Z TAFS)
Issued at 613 AM CDT Sat Jul 27 2024

Recent satellite and ASOS observations show scattered patches of low clouds across the southern portions of our area (as of 1115z)
near KJCT, KBBD, and KSOA. This activity should remain intermittent and scattered for the next few hours. Expect this activity to persist through 15z.
