SYNOPSIS
Through Friday, warmer west of the mountains and a little cooler for the mountains and deserts on Thursday and Friday. There will be patchy late night and early morning low clouds near the coast.
There will be gusty northerly winds along and below the coastal slopes of the mountains for Thursday and Thursday night with the stronger gusts near the Cajon Pass to 40 to 50 mph. The winds will become more northeasterly on Friday and spread southward into San Diego County with the stronger gusts to 30 to 40 mph. Warmer and dry for Saturday through Wednesday. High temperatures will warm for Saturday through Monday with continued slower warming for inland areas through Wednesday. High temperatures for Monday through Wednesday for the mountains, deserts, and inland valleys will be generally 12 to 18 degrees above average.

A weak coastal eddy will continue during the nights and mornings into Friday with patchy late night and early morning low clouds and fog near the coast. There will be warming for the coast and valleys for today through Friday with the greater warming for Thursday and Friday. The mountains and deserts will be a few degrees cooler on Thursday and another degree or two cooler on Friday. There will be weak offshore flow for Thursday and Friday.
For Thursday morning into Thursday night, there will be gusty northerly winds along and below the coastal slopes of the mountains with the stronger gusts near the Cajon Pass to 40 to 50 mph. The winds will become more northeasterly by Friday morning, spreading southward in San Diego County and continuing into Friday afternoon with the stronger gusts to 30 to 40 mph.
.LONG TERM (Saturday through Tuesday)...
High pressure aloft will be across southern California for Saturday through Wednesday. There will be continued dry weather with warming for the coast and valleys through Monday with slower warming continuing for the mountains and deserts through Wednesday.
Some night and morning low clouds could return near the coast for early Tuesday and early Wednesday. With the warming, high temperatures for Monday through Wednesday for the mountains, deserts, and inland valleys will be generally 12 to 18 degrees above average with high temperatures for the valleys in the mid 70s to mid 80s and in the lower deserts in the upper 80s to around 90.

Very patchy low clouds expected to develop within about 10 miles of the coast 10-14Z this morning, with a 60% chance for CIGs in parts of Orange and San Diego counties, including KSAN, by 13Z. Clouds will be based around 600-900 ft MSL, and localized VIS reductions 3-6 SM are possible over the coastal mesas/highlands. Clouds that develop will scatter out by 17-18Z this morning. More extensive low clouds develop late this evening/tonight and move inland up to about 10 miles overnight, with similar bases.
Low to moderate confidence in timing of clouds, with a 40% chance for CIGs at coastal sites by 05-06Z Thu increasing to 60% by 09-10Z.
