Dry, settled, and seasonable wx condns wl headline the short term PD to start the new week. Aloft, robust H500 troughing is set to quickly pivot towards a more neutral to slightly negative tilt, and lift N/Ewrd thru Sun and Mon. At the sfc, strong high pressure wl be settling in over the Srn Cntrl US, w/ a continental dry airmass overspreading the FA alongside breezy N/Wrly winds. As mentioned, expect seasonable temps the next few days, w/ high temps in the 50s, and lows in the 20s/30s
LONG TERM
(Tuesday through Saturday)

Zonal flow aloft will be over the eastern two thirds of the country to begin the long term period with an upper level trough extending from Canada into the Great Lakes. This trough moves to the east coast Wednesday as an upper low develops in the desert southwest.
This upper low then moves through Texas Friday and along the Gulf Coast Saturday.
Surface high pressure will be over Arkansas Tuesday. The next cold front will move through the state Wednesday. This front will be weak and no precipitation is expected. A large area of high pressure sets up over the region Thursday. Another system associated with the upper low will bring an increase in moisture over Arkansas. Slight rain chances are expected Friday and will continue into Saturday.
Warmer temperatures are expected for the upcoming week. Temperatures will generally be above normal through the week.
