WHAT HAS CHANGED
No significant changes were made to the forecast early this Tuesday morning.

KEY MESSAGES
1. High pressure will bring mainly dry weather through the remainder of the week with warming temperatures and a return to higher humidity by late week.

DISCUSSION
KEY MESSAGE 1 DESCRIPTION...

Surface high pressure will build to our southwest today, allowing for mainly sunny skies with high temperatures into the upper 70s/lower 80s across the north with middle to upper 80s south of the mountains. Daytime mixing will allow for comfortable humidity values with dew points mainly into the 50s.
It will be a bit breezy as well with westerly wind gusts up to around 25 mph at times, especially through the first half of the day.

Clear to partly cloudy skies tonight combined with light winds will allow temperatures to cool to around 50 degrees across some interior valleys with upper 50s to lower 60s elsewhere.

The warming trend will continue on Wednesday through the remainder of the week as a Bermuda High allows for sub-tropical air to be transported northward as south-southwesterly flow prevails at the surface. This will allow for typical August weather with high temperatures each day into the 80s to near 90 degrees and elevated dew points into the 60s to near 70 degrees at times. The peak of the heat and humidity currently looks to be on Friday when afternoon heat indices may approach the middle 90s across some interior locations south of the mountains.

As is often the case in the Summer, we will need to watch for diurnally driven showers and thunderstorms most days. While no particular day currently looks overly supportive for severe storms, depending on the timing of a few weak waves of energy, a few strong to severe storms cannot be ruled out, especially towards late week or this upcoming weekend.

AVIATION /12Z TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/
Through Tuesday Night: VFR conditions expected, although some patchy FG is possible both tonight and Tuesday night. The greatest potential for FG is at LEB and HIE. W winds will prevail with gusts through Tuesday up to 25 kts. Winds will become light and variable Tuesday night. No LLWS is anticipated through the period.

Outlook:

Wednesday-Saturday: Mainly VFR conditions expected with S-SW prevailing. The exception will be within an possible SHRA/TSRA, with the greatest potential for this during the afternoon and early evening hours, especially towards late week. Nighttime and early morning FG also cannot be ruled out, especially across interior valley and coastal TAF sites.

MARINE
Seas will remain elevated at 4-6 ft through this afternoon with the SCA remaining in effect. Bermuda High pressure will then bring light winds and fair seas mid to late week with S-SW winds of generally 10-15 kts and seas of 2-4 ft.
