KEY MESSAGE 1 DESCRIPTION...
Early this morning, the center of the low pressure system in our area continues to drift slowly eastwards along the Downeast coast. This low will continue to gradually shift eastward, exiting the forecast area through the day today. While it does so, moisture wrapping around the low will continue to support ongoing scattered showers throughout the forecast area, particularly across the northern half of the CWA as a dry slot has established itself over the Downeast region for this morning.

As the low pressure continues to pull away into the Canadian Maritimes through the early week, the moisture and instability support will also lessen in our area. That said, an upper level trough will remain overhead through this time, persisting a generally unsettled pattern with the chance for isolated to scattered showers each day. This synoptic pattern will also act to support more seasonable temperatures, with highs in the 40s to low 50s each day and lows in the 30s through the first half of the week.

AVIATION /12Z SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/
Today.. MVFR/IFR conditions continue across all terminals in low cigs. Scattered rain showers through the day, with conditions potentially becoming LIFR during or shortly after rainfall.
Patchy fog and mist. NW winds 10 to 15 kts with gusts 20 to 25 kts by this afternoon.

Tonight-Monday...IFR in low cigs at northern terms, while BGR/BHB lift to VFR overnight. MVFR/IFR conditions at all terms later Monday in rain showers, though northern terms may begin to improve slightly towards MVFR late. Decreasing winds become light and variable overnight, then W around 5 kts on Monday.

Monday night-Tuesday...Mainly VFR. Possible MVFR over nrn terminals Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon in showers. WSW winds 5-10 kts.

Tuesday night-Wednesday...Mainly VFR with showers, northern terminals. Light W winds becoming WNW 5-15 kts.

Wednesday night-Thursday...VFR. WNW winds 5-10 kts, gusting up to 20 kts.

MARINE
Brief improvement across the waters with winds falling below 20 kts early this morning and seas 3 to 5 ft. Winds will begin to increase once more later this morning, with gusts reaching 25 to 30 kts on the intracoastal and coastal waters by this afternoon.
Outer waters could see gusts to around 35 kts for a few hours this afternoon, then quickly settle back to 20 to 30 kts. Seas increase this afternoon to 3 to 7 ft within 25 NM, and 6 to 8 ft outside of 25 NM. All conditions begin to improve tonight into early Monday, with seas becoming 2 to 4 ft and winds at or below 15 kts.

For Monday night, NW winds gusting to aoa 25kts over the outer waters with seas between 4-6 feet. Marginal SCA conditions over the coastal waters Tuesday morning. Seas diminish Tuesday through Thursday. NW winds diminish Tuesday/Tuesday night before approaching 25kts outer waters Wednesday morning with marginal conditions once again over the coastal waters.
