Sunny, cool temperatures will persist this afternoon around 10 degrees below normal as strong high pressure is settling into our area from the deep south. Winds should remain light from the north and northeast 5-10 mph and only a few high thin cirrus aloft. Temperatures in the mid/upper 50s in SE GA and the low 60s over NE FL will begin to fall off towards sunset into the 40s and then into the 30s inland as midnight approaches with lows 30-32 degrees for SE GA and the Suwannee Valley of NE FL. A Freeze warning will go into effect at 1AM for all of SE GA and for inland NE FL locations north and west of the Santa Fe river including I-10 areas west of Jacksonville and the Suwannee Valley. A Frost advisory will go into effect also at 1AM for areas bordering the Freeze Warning along highway 301 including Gainesville, Keystone Heights, and Starke as well as Fernandina Beach and along and west of I-75 in Marion county (west of Ocala) where lows will fall into the mid 30s. Upper 30s to low 40s is expected along and east of the St Johns river.
SHORT TERM
(Sunday through Monday night)

High pressure at the surface with an upper level ridge will keep conditions dry Sunday. Skies will be mostly clear in the morning with cloud cover slowly increasing throughout the day as moisture builds in over the area. Daytime high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60s over southeast Georgia with temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s over northeast Florida. Sunday night into Monday morning lows will be in the mid to upper 40s over inland southeast Georgia and in the upper 40s to low 50s over inland northeast Florida. Coastal temperatures will be in the mid to upper 50s. Monday, moisture continues to fill into the area as high pressure makes its way east, increasing chances for some precipitation over southeast Georgia in the later evening hours.
High daytime temperatures will reach into the 70s with overnight lows dropping into the mid to upper 50s.
LONG TERM
(Tuesday through next Saturday)

Moisture continues to fill in over the area into Wednesday as surface high pressure moves further east out into the Atlantic.
A cold front moves in from the northwest to the southeast early to mid week bringing scattered to numerous showers to the area as it approaches. Isolated thunderstorms may be possible Wednesday as more instability is present in the upper levels as the cold front moves through. Showers linger behind the passing front, clearing out as cool, dry high pressure fills in for the rest of the week. Temperatures Tuesday into Wednesday afternoon will be above normal ahead of the front cooling to below normal for the rest of the week.

Few thin cirrus will spread east late tonight into Sunday with more high clouds developing near the end of the period as the high slowly begins to sink away to the east southeast. Calm winds will be very light and variable Sunday after 15Z around 3-5 knots due to the high's influence.
