SYNOPSIS
High pressure will bring seasonable weather through Wednesay.
Thursday and Friday will be milder ahead of a cold front that will bring a few showers. Seasonable weekend weather will then give way to another warmup starting Monday.

NEAR TERM /THROUGH WEDNESDAY/
Dewpoints are still being a tad difficult as mixing continues this afternoon. Otherwise, little is happening through the rest of the day as gusts should cease after sundown. Surface high pressure will wedge down from the north along the East Coast through tonight with ridging aloft. Enough of a breeze should remain overnight due to the pressure gradient to disrupt radiational cooling despite mostly clear skies. Lowered our traditionally colder spots by a couple degrees but otherwise, lows tonight will be near freezing. Wednesday will continue to stick near seasonable norms with some stratus possible at the coast in the early morning. Otherwise, expecting conditions much like today, with northerly winds and highs near 60.
High pressure should be overhead come the afternoon, with winds becoming light and variable near the end of the period.

SHORT TERM /WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT/
A very N-S elongated surface ridge will still be overhead at the start of the period and into Wednesday. Some guidance hinting at a little radiational cooling Wednesday night so undercut blended numbers by 2 degrees. As the ridge axis slides offshore winds turn to the south Thursday allowing the afternoon to warm into the upper 60s. Not only does WAA continue Thursday night but clouds increase as well ahead of a cold front bringing a very mild night where lows will have trouble getting below 50. Rain chances increase rapidly during the latter half of Thursday night as the boundary draws closer but rainfall amounts will be very light.

LONG TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/
Mild air still in place on Friday, at least the early part of the day ahead of the cold front that will still have a few light showers hanging around in the morning. Some non-diurnal temperature drop- offs seem quite possible Friday afternoon. More seasonable weather is expected over the weekend (the much stronger cooldown in the EC is a relatively new idea and not the accepted solution at this time). Regardless of the degree of cooldown over the weekend models do agree that it is short lived and that high pressure moves offshore for a warming trend starting Monday.

AVIATION /18Z TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/
VFR expected through the 18Z TAF period. NE winds will continue gusting generally 15-20 kts through the remainder of the afternoon/evening. A breeze remains overnight with low chances for fog but confidence is too low on impacts to terminals to include in the TAFs at this time. N winds pick up again after sunrise Wed.

Extended Outlook... There is a moderate potential of MVFR ceilings and visibility plus a low potential for IFR ceilings late Thursday night into Friday as a cold front slides through the area.

MARINE
Through Wednesday...Moderate NE flow will remain in control through the overnight period and Wednesday AM before building high pressure leads to improving conditions during the afternoon. Gusts are expected to stay below SCA criteria with winds decreasing to around 10 kts by late afternoon through the end of the period. Seas 3-5 ft with a NE swell at 7-8 seconds and a NE wind wave.

Wednesday night through Sunday... Winds very light Wednesday night but backswell from a system well offshore continues to keep seas elevated. Flow turns to the south Thursday night as high pressure moves offshore and a cold front approaches from the NW. Wind and seas both ramp up to advisory levels as this occurs, the headlines possibly lasting into Friday night now. High pressure builds over the weekend keeping flow out of the NW.
