Increasing clouds build overnight with warm lows around the mid 70s by sunrise. A few showers may develop this morning, mostly favored out west where wind in the low levels remains strongest. Later today, conditions are generally expected to be drier than the over- preforming showers and storms of yesterday. This afternoon, some seabreeze showers or storms may again develop but activity should remain isolated and limited to mainly the coastal plains. Morning cloud cover will break up in the afternoon with highs in the upper 80s to mid 90s. Any shower or storm activity will diminish with the sunset. Lows tonight and highs Wednesday will be similar to those of today, with some slightly more breezy conditions expected Wednesday afternoon.

LONG TERM

Expect mainly hot and dry conditions late week with the exception of any seabreeze showers or thunderstorms in the afternoons/evenings over the Coastal Plains. The subtropical ridge will suppress widespread precipitation development during this time, but this feature does weaken as we head into the weekend due to broad troughing amplifying over the central and eastern US. Moisture increases over the area again late this weekend as ridging breaks down bringing slightly higher rain chances Sunday and Monday.

Conditions will likely continue to feel humid late week due to high soil moisture. With widespread highs in the 90s each day late week into the weekend, heat index values may reach as high as 105-110 degrees at times depending on the location. We'll mainly see cloudy mornings with some clearing of skies in the afternoons. This pattern keeps low temperatures slightly above normal each night contributing to moderate heat risk over much of the area during the long term period.

Ceilings are mostly MVFR with intermittent IFR in the San Antonio area. All terminals will return to VFR by around noon. There is around a 20% chance for showers or thunderstorms during the afternoon, but the probability is too low to include in the TAFs.
Low ceilings will develop again late tonight.
