- Dense Fog Advisory Tonight: Expect widespread areas of fog with visibility of one quarter of a mile or less at times.
- Temperatures Roller Coaster: A series of short-lived warm-ups and cool-downs are expected this week.

DISCUSSION
Issued at 1131 PM CST Sat Dec 6 2025
After a mild Saturday, our focus this evening and overnight transitions to the dense fog that will be possible across the region. After watching surface observations and coordinating with out neighboring offices, visibility is quickly dropping across some locations, which has prompted the issuance of a Dense Fog Advisory for the entire area through 9:00 AM Sunday morning.
Visibility will drop to a quarter mile or less at times, making driving tricky. If you're out and about, please treat the roads with the utmost caution - slow down and use your low-beam headlights. Sunday offers a very brief warm-up, with highs climbing into the mid-50s across our northern zones and reaching the mid to upper 60s across our southern zones. A cold front will push through the area on Sunday night into Monday.
The rest of the week looks to be a bit of a thermal roller coaster , giving us a classic December feel. Cooler, more seasonal air settles in on Monday behind the aforementioned cold front, but don't get too comfortable in those jackets. Another warm-up begins on Tuesday, culminating in a beautifully warm Thursday where our southern zones can welcome back the mid-70s. This pattern of fleeting warmth and quick cool-downs is something we've been watching over the past few days, and it can feel like the atmospheric circulation is constantly in flux, moving things between our familiar world and a far cooler place, only to bring us back to the warmth again. Looking ahead to the end of the week, the warm party is short-lived as another cold front arrives late Thursday into Friday morning. This may also kick up an isolated shower or two in our eastern zones while at the same time ushering in cooler temperatures once again for the weekend. /33/
