Marine Weather and Tide Forecast for Madison, MS

For this afternoon, we are monitoring the development of a few strong/severe storms ahead of the cold front, and there continues to be a marginal severe risk for damaging wind gusts during peak heating over much of the area. Looking ahead, it does appear we are nearing the end of the "dangerous" heat regime in this long and brutally hot summer of 2026. Tomorrow will see the much anticipated cold front push through the area, and while the air following the front will not be cool and dry enough to remind us of fall, it will at least bring conditions that are more typical of late September.

For Tuesday, we could see portions of eastern MS get into the picture for a marginal risk for severe storms, but it appears most of the activity will stay east of us and will hold off on any messaging for now. Looking ahead for late this week into next weekend, as mentioned, drier conditions can be expected with "less hot" temperatures. Overall, weather impacts will mostly be tied to early week heat and convective potential. /EC/
