KEY MESSAGES

* Generally quiet weather through the forecast period, with the exception of a significant warming trend, which will increase temperatures to near-20 degrees above-normal.

DISCUSSION
through Monday.

Other than periods of breezy winds between 20-35 mph, conditions remain rather calm over the next 7 days as ridging builds.
Temperatures are already running above normal, and these anomalies will only be exacerbated throughout the week and into next week. By the weekend, expecting highs ~15 degrees above normal. Next week, we could be looking at 20-25 degrees above normal as highs across the region soar into the upper 80s to low 100s. These values yield widespread minor to moderate HeatRisk and will challenge both daily and monthly records. Yes, these temperatures are commonplace in this region during the late spring and summer. However, this kind of heat is quite rare (potentially unprecedented) for mid- March and will hit harder than usual given the limited opportunities for acclimation thus far.
