- Below Normal Temperatures with Occasional Chances for Rain
Showers will be possible along the 850mb front into tonight for southeast portions of the forecast area. Behind the front dry conditions are expected with northwest winds gusting toward 20 mph. Highs today will be about 20 degrees cooler than yesterday with lows Wednesday morning in the 30s to around 40. A Frost Advisory will likely be needed for areas along and north of M-20, but could extend as far south as I-96. It will depend on cloud cover and if we can clear out fast enough.
We'll remain in southwest flow aloft until Thursday, however the better moisture and lift will be east of the area with dry conditions persisting. Highs continue to be in the 50s with lows in the 30s to low 40s. The best chance for widespread frost will be Wednesday night as skies are expected to clear with most of the area seeing lows in the low to mid 30s.
As the trough axis moves through Thursday, mid to upper level flow becomes northwesterly. A few shortwave troughs move through Friday into the next week. Each shortwave trough will bring a chance for rain. Currently the best chances (30 to 50 percent) are Friday afternoon into Friday night and Sunday.
