Marine Weather and Tide Forecast for Hallsburg, TX

SHORT TERM

With the upper-level ridge remaining planted over much of the southern and central CONUS this weekend, expect hot and dry conditions to prevail across North and Central Texas. Southerly winds, subsident air, and slightly clearer skies will push afternoon high temperatures into the mid 90s to around 101 today, a few degrees warmer than yesterday. Modest humidity will keep heat indices a few degrees higher than ambient air temperature, with afternoon heat index values expected to range between 97 and 109 degrees. The highest heat indices continue to be mainly confined to areas around and north of the I-20 corridor, and the current Heat Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM for much of North Texas and portions of northeast Central Texas. Overnight, expect warm and humid conditions with low temperatures in the low 70s to low 80s.

LONG TERM
(Sunday through Friday)

The ridge is expected to remain the dominant player in our regional weather pattern through much of this upcoming week.
Though small disturbances may transit around the ridge, any rain that occurs from those disturbances will unfortunately remain well outside of the forecast area. Expect afternoon highs to increase heading into the new work week, reaching into the upper 90s to around 104-105 by early next week. Humidity will also remain elevated as no frontal intrusion or slug of dry air are expected, and will keep daily heat indices between 100-110 degrees. All this being said, additional Heat Advisories will likely be needed daily through midweek in portions of North and Central Texas. Make sure to stay cool and hydrated, and to avoid excess time outside during the heat of the day.

By the end of the forecast period, long-range guidance shows the upper level trough over the eastern CONUS digging a bit further south, which may shunt the ridge back to the west over the first week of August. This may help to shave a few degrees off of afternoon temperatures, but this is too far out to really dig into at this time.

Mid-level clouds around 15 kft will continue to develop in North Texas and spread southward this morning, moving over the D10 sites before thinning out somewhat as they reach ACT over the rest of the morning. There are some light precipitation echoes just east of the Bonham cornerpost, but these should stay east of the D10 airports and produce little in the way of precipitation outside of some sprinkles. Expect VFR to prevail at all TAF airports through tomorrow afternoon, alongside scattered mid-level cloud cover and south-southwest winds between 11-13 kts.
