- Rain Today
Wave of low pressure moving along a stationary front will bring rain and a few elevated thunderstorms today with QPF of a half to three quarters of an inch across the Grand River basin which could cause rises on the tributaries and mainstem rivers in the Grand, Muskegon and Kalamazoo basins. The rain moves off to the southeast this afternoon as sfc high pressure builds in.
- Excessive rainfall potential next week
Sunday through Thursday holds the potential for more flooding rains as Plains lows track into the Great Lakes. This is similar to the synoptic pattern last week that brought flooding and could also result in severe weather depending on details that cannot be resolved yet. Latest model guidance is suggesting this large scale synoptic pattern persists even beyond day 7.
